Townhall Questions for Sarah Palin
I’ll never have the opportunity to ask a question at a McCain-Palin townhall because 1. I don’t live in a swing state (yet) and 2. I’m probably on the Republican Party townhall blacklist (wait…THAT Rodney Hopper?).
For all of you who do have the opportunity to attend one of these dog and pony shows, here’s some suggestions for questions you should ask:
1. Given John McCain’s rhetoric that he’ll go after the greedy CEO’s and corrupt executives accepting golden parachutes while their employees stand in the unemployment line, why does he want to reward them with a huge tax cut that will lead to debt even greater than what’s been pressed on us by the bailout?
2. Given the cronyism we’ve seen from the current administration and the suffering of the victims of Hurricane Katrina that resulted from that cronyism, can you explain to me Franci Havemeister’s qualifications for the $95,000 a year job as head of the Alaskan State Department of Agriculture?
3. In a recent email to supporters, you said the ‘Obama-Biden’ Democrats had been spreading lies about you. Exactly what lies have Barack Obama or Joe Biden spread about you?
4. When are you going to do a press conference?
5. Why haven’t you done a press conference?
6. When are you going to release your tax returns?
7. Why haven’t you released your tax returns?
8. Given the recent news from Pyong Yang, do you think it’s wise to provoke Russia by flippantly saying we ‘perhaps’ might have to go to war with them?
9. What part of the blame do you feel Phil Gramm owns in championing the deregulation that has led us to the current economic adviser?
10. What was the logic behind charging rape victims for their rape examinations and, if your answer is you didn’t know about it, how can you claim to be ready to maintain the largest law enforcement agency in the world when you can’t control one of the smallest?
11. In the event that a 12 or 13 year old were raped and became pregnant whether by a stranger or a family member, by what logic would you deny them or their parents the right to choose whether or not to end the pregnancy immediately?
That’s it for now, I’ll add as I think of them. I’m open to suggestions.
