Newt: Palin in enemy territory (Katie Couric)

Discussing the Sarah Palin interview on Katie Couric, Newt Gingrich proclaimed Palin shouldn’t have gone into ‘enemy territory’ by which he meant Katie Couric (yeah, seriously).

I think the end says it all ‘Newt Gingrich thinks Sarah Palin isn’t ready to be interviewed by Katie Couric, but IS ready to be America’s Vice President. Think about that logic…’

Will: (to Newt) What was YOUR response to the Katie Couric Interview?

Newt: They shouldn’t have scheduled it.

Group: (laughter)

Newt: You don’t put ‘em in the ‘enemy camp’ on a national television show as part of ‘the training’.

Alt: Let me just say I don’t consider that Katie Couric and the press – “the enemy camp”, and articularly Katie Couric, I don’t really consider that the enemy…

Q: WHEN is she ready for Prime Time?

Newt: I think she’ll… think she’ll gradually be ready for Prime Time…

Alt: …there are only FIVE WEEKS left in the campaign

Q: When is she ready for Prime Time?

Will: When is she ready to be PRESIDENT? THAT is the question.

Newt: Uh er… if you want to ask me…?

Will: I just DID…

Newt: … which gamble do I prefer?

Will: yeah

Newt: I prefer the gamble of ‘Palin’ to the gamble of either Obama or Biden

(silence.. disbelief)

Will: Life is FULL of gambles that are un-avoidable…this SURELY was an avoidable gamble.

Jon Ralston gets owned by Barack Obama

Conservative Nevada political analyst Jon Ralston interviewed Barack Obama on Tuesday. Ralston does his best to over-simplify Obama’s positions and plays the ‘gotcha’ game, but Obama doesn’t bite. When Ralston accuses Obama of flip-flopping and adopting the McCain energy plan, Obama clearly outlines the differences in his approach to energy and John McCain’s.
